- Serves as the communications officer and manage all communications and publicity for the crew
- Maintains crew membership and attendance records
- Maintains rosters of Crew members and frequently involved persons, including as many forms of readily
available communication as possible, and identifies preferred methods, making them available to the Crew as needed and appropriate. - Handles crew correspondence within the crew and with the Council/other Crews
- Records the minutes during the meetings including decisions, plans, attendance, and activities.
- Coordinates crew publicity with committees dedicated to local media, social media, crew newsletters, websites, etc.
- Maintains groups, pages, blogs, calendars, message boards, etc., on the most relevant social media and
social networking sites. - Actively studies and remains aware of the best way to communicate to ensure that the Crew web presence is being maintained, updated, and scaled appropriately for effective publication of information and collection of feedback.
- Actively pursues opportunities to increase Crew exposure by submitting articles, comments, photos,
upcoming event announcements, and reports to external publications such as local newspapers, Council and Territory VOAs and other appropriate outlets. - Develops and maintains the tools to communicate with all relevant parties using a variety of methods such as telephone, text message, email, and postal mail as appropriate.
- Performs any other duties as assigned by the president
- Approaches Venturing in a spirit of fun, and seeks to reflect this spirit in the publicity and communications of the crew
